“An inheritance quickly gained will not be blessed at the end” Proverbs 20:21 NIV. We are in an impatient generation; a generation that is always looking for ‘express’ that is a shortcut to receiving what we want. We look for the quickest ways to achieve everything in life but we fail to understand that every shortcut is man-made and everything that is created by man has side effects. For example, the most likeable food today are fast foods of which are unhealthy and only shortens our lifespan. Impatience is a sure way to destruction whereas patience is a sure way to blessing. Premature blessings will only put you in bondage; you may choose to be blessed prematurely but your blessing will be surrounded by complications due to your spiritual immaturity.Patience is a necessity for those who wish to see God; for the bible says “Look, I come like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake” Revelation 16:15 NIV. If you wish to be an example of faith, one that your descendants shall follow, you must be patient with God. Forbearance, patience and perseverance are a must because you cannot set a deadline for God as He has His own time. Therefore, learn to be patient.
