For every woman, receiving the news that there is a fetus growing inside of her is a reason to celebrate and such was the case of Ms. Gobona Monageng. Five months down the line while beaming with joy of her pregnancy, she went for her routine check-up and the medics ran the ultrasound scan and checked the fetal heart rate and position. Alas this time doctors did not have good news for her. What began as a pleasing surprise became life threatening.
“You have a placenta previa,”- the doctor said in shock. In medical explanation, her placenta was lying unusually low in her uterus, next or covering the cervix. This was a fatal pregnancy; one that could claim the life of the mother and the unborn baby. Her condition made the doctors refer her to the special care unit and every bit of detail concerning her condition had been thoroughly explained to her. The fetus could calcify inside the mother’s uterus hence going through with the pregnancy posed danger to both Gobona and her child. The medics expounded that if by any chance her baby survives she would see birth defects due to compression.
At some point the doctors suggested surgery which even after the obligatory premature birth the incipient baby would have to be kept in a Tesco re-seal-able sandwich bag to provide ‘her’ with the necessary nourishment. Clearly, it was a condition that could only be medically corrected through surgery. Confronted with the idea of surgery, Ms Monageng refused to yield to the idea of surgery. Instead, she ran to God, having seen a lot of miracles happening before her very own eyes in the Arena of Grace. It was here that she received a prophetic word from Prophet Cedric in which he said “ You are sick, what causes this fever’ as she Ms Gobona stood up to narrate her said story, as directed by the Holy Spirit Prophet Cedric said ‘ Don’t worry you will deliver a baby boy at 9 months and his name is Emmanuel”.
After receiving prayer Ms Monageng decided to go back to her doctor for a check-up. Just as no one knows how water gets into the coconut, her doctor could not comprehend the way she was showing progress in a matter of days, having predestined the theoretical and practical explanation of everything that was happening. Even the doctors who had said her condition could only be resolved by surgery rescinded their suggestion after they discovered that she was well, there was no more placenta previa! The child was showing growth and there were no proven dangers to both the mother and child. Jesus through the prophetic word had nullified all the negative pronunciations.
Even though it was the rarest form of a case Emmanuel’s story is one that would beat the odds again and again and become part of medical history. No logical explanation could be made to a delivery so successful nor a mother and baby so unscathed as Gobona and Emmanuel Monageng. Having pronounced that the child yet unborn would be a baby girl, Gobona’s medical doctor was left baffled because the baby was a boy. Moreover after delivery the doctor had written that the child is a corpse. Nurses called the doctor to correct his statement. The child born was perfectly healthy and with an unfathomable gain in weight and strength. A baby boy christened Emmanuel as per the instruction from God through the Prophet.
Indeed the age of miracles has not passed. Thanking God for her miracle baby, Gobona advised other believers not to fret when faced with challenging situations for God will surely see them through.
