For over 29 years, Mr Russell’s life suffered a great deal of turbulence; he found himself under a siege of addiction which went on to affect his entire life. From a very young age, he would have his elders back at home sending him to light up cigarettes and smoking pipes on their behalf. What seemed to be a simple gesture planted a seed of disarray in the young boy’s childhood. In his prying, he started embezzling some cigarettes to experiment with his friends at school which led him to becoming a middle man supplier in the learning environment. Apace, the boy was reported to school authorities which resulted to a rendezvous of suspensions, expulsions and eventually a stout ban from the national schooling pool.
Eventually, he landed a spot in one of the neighboring countries which is where he completed his Cambridge Certificate. All the while, he survived in this school because the authorities disregarded his addiction and only looked to edify his academic skills. Duly, he excelled in his academics and moved on to study Commerce which propelled him into his destiny of becoming a business man. In no time, he rose to the top with quite exclusive business ideas; unequivocally accumulating wealth in his youth.
The very same heinous spirit that caused him an addiction to smoking cigarettes, now expanded its roots and brought in an addiction to smoking marijuana as well. This means that his finances were affected as he started to pay less attention to his business dealings and surely starting losing money to a point where he would sell some of his family assets in order to feed the addiction. Oftentimes, his family would go without food and would fail to pay rent. As a chain smoker, whenever he didn’t smoke, his wife and children were assured of a lashing that would only leave a trail of bruised skin and so much hurt. He had lost the intricate glue of peace that had previously held the family together.
On her own part, Mrs. Russell further explained how this spirit had frustrated her marriage to the point where she contemplated divorce. She revealed that her husband reeked so much of smoke that they slept in separate rooms and consequently, they lost affection towards each other completely. Adding on to that, they had constant fights. Due to the physical abuse she suffered, she resolved to seek parents’ intervention for her marriage but they could only advise her to divorce.
All this while, Mr Russell was haunted by suicidal thoughts brought about by the frustration of his inability to provide for his family. In an attempt to improve, he tried to quit smoking by his own free will but instead, he spiraled up with the addiction to an advanced stage of being an electric pipe smoker. It was amidst all this hopelessness that he was encouraged by his wife to attend the Maun Crusade hosted by Prophet Cedric. He was arranged on the prayer line and just through a touch from the man of God, the evil spirit shrieked out and confessed all the bad that had befell Mr. Russell’s life. The power of God put a permanent barricade to the spirit.
Returning to the Gospel of God’s Grace Ministries for his testimony in company of his wife, Mr Russell explained that ever since his deliverance he has neither experienced any urge to smoke nor been aggressive towards his wife and children. According to him, he is longer suicidal and his thoughts have changed for good. He now cherishes his wife and feels so much affection for her and he thanked God for saving him from the legion of doom; smoking, anger and all other irresponsible acts. “It’s like the first time we met!’ gushed Mrs. Russell. The elated couple gave glory to God for a new lease in their lives.
