Oftentimes many follow God only to receive tangible blessings such as healing, deliverance and breakthrough from Him. They neglect the most important aspect which is to relate with Him. That is why after receiving such blessings they cease to pray, fast and follow Him – this is not Christianity. Jesus Christ did not die and resurrect only for you to receive blessings from God but that He may restore a relationship between you and Him.
If you read your Bible from Genesis to Revelation, you will realize that all Saints, I mean patriarchs of faith cherished a relationship with God. When they approached God, it was not for a once off deal but for a lifetime covenant; relationship. Remember, there is no healing, breakthrough or deliverance without God. So, when you have a relationship with Him – your Healer, Blesser and Deliverer, He will rescue you from your challenges. For this reason, you should prioritize a relationship with Him much more than its proceeds. From now onwards, shift your focus from the proceeds of a relationship with God to the relationship, itself.
