WHAT IS CROSSOVER?
ANS: “The Crossover is a great Christian movement which is an opportunity for many to be introduced to the knowledge of Christ for the salvation of souls.”
A lit lamp is like a city on a hill that cannot be hidden and so is the anointing of God in the life of Prophet Cedric. Under the check and conduct of the Holy Spirit, the man of God was inspired to establish the annual Cross- over event in order to share this anointing with the nations at large. This highly esteemed ‘service’ is an annual joint meeting that draws the curtain on an outgoing year and welcomes the new year in God’s presence. As believers from all walks of life come together to thank God for His faithfulness, protection and blessings in the year that was, they also stand in one accord to ask God for His direction concerning the New Year, recognizing that whatever begins in God’s presence is well started. The same truth is evident in the life of Moses, who said “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here” [Exodus 33:15]. Therefore, as we usher in the New Year, we also receive the assurance of God’s presence which will carry us through the different seasons and help us to end it well.
This annual Cross- Over event carries along a very symbolic and significant theme of white clothing which represents purity, holiness and godliness. It also signifies our transitioning from a carnal nature to a more Heavenly one, just as our Lord Jesus Christ at the mount of transfiguration whose clothes became as white as snow, showing His evolution to glory. “All who are victorious will be clothed in white” [Revelation 3:5]. This glorious occasion also has the candle light moment – lighting session with a very great meaning as it represents the light of God in our lives; everlasting joy, happiness and power to sustain us throughout the New Year. The light of the candle is a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night. That is, when days are dark and you do not know what to do, the Lord shall be your guide. When it seems as though all hope is lost, the light of God shall direct.
What began as a gathering for only a handful in the church premises has surely grown immeasurably; reaching out to thousands of lives across the nation of Botswana and beyond. On the 31st December 2011, 3G Ministries held its first crossover candlelight service in the church premises with around 200 people in attendance. Just a year later, the second crossover was hosted now with an increase of about 7000 people in attendance. It was during the second Crossover when the man of God gave a prophecy and said, “I don’t see these church premises being able to contain us anymore; I see an event like this one held in the national stadium.” Naturally it seemed like a far-fetched dream but the scripture was fulfilled, “so shall my word be, that goes forth from my mouth, it shall not return void “(Isaiah 55:11).
What followed next were a series of crossover candle light events held at the National Stadium, Botswana- a true confirmation of the prophecy given by the man of God, Prophet Cedric. The third crossover event (2013/14) was hosted at the Gaborone national stadium with over 20 000 people in attendance. The number was increased during the fourth crossover, also hosted at the national stadium with over 27 000 people in attendance, evidently showing the remarkable power of God working through the faculties of His servant in this prophetic and evangelistic ministry. Such a well decorated event has over the sequential years attracted a growing number of people who zealously chase after the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Over the years, we have also seen God string together messages through His servant that have been a lamp to our feet and a light to our paths. From a steadfast preamble of DEVOTION to God’s Word, His people were carried along and set apart for a DISTINCTION that led to a profound and resounding DEFINITION of life which steered them to being IDENTIFIED as co-heirs with Christ.
