With Christmas around the corner, Prophet Cedric had his message wrapped around the meaning of this season and this is the morsel he shared with the church,
“When you talk of Christmas you are talking love, kindness, goodness, mercy and forgiveness. You cannot talk Christmas without mentioning all these.” As a Christian, you have to live a life of love and this love I am talking about is expressed through GIVING. God expressed the greatness of giving in John 3:16 where it is recorded, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
In a season like this one, you should express your love through giving to other people, more especially to those who have no means of thanking you, for it is only then that you shall get a reward from God. You need to see your neighbour as a representative of God, just so when you give, you will know that you are giving to God Almighty and any reward must come from above. The reason why you keep giving to others but you do not receive and get blessed is because the attitude behind your giving is wrong. The attitude of giving is greater than the gift itself and therefore, the manner you give to the Almighty becomes greater than whatever you are offering. This is evinced by the widow in Luke 21 – she gave out of her livelihood; everything that her life depended on unlike others who were giving out of abundance. Her attitude was what qualified her offering as more than all the others and this is the attitude you must choose for yourself. Should you give out of pride and arrogance then you are only giving to yourself.
How many times do you feel offended when all those whom you have given to seem not to appreciate you? If indeed you are giving for God’s sake then you ought to focus on Him and not on the reaction of those who receive from you. Take note that every time you do good, satan becomes jealous and as such he target the goodness in you through the response of the people you give to. When you renounce giving because you are not appreciated then you blindly fall in to the trap of the enemy. Hence when you give, do so for God’s sake and have no expectation from those whom you are giving to. This is simply because, to God, what you give does not matter, what matters is the motive behind it.
In furtherance, Prophet Cedric had this to say, “Our consistency in what we do proves our genuineness. For time will not allow that which is fake to continue. Are you consistent in what you are doing? If you are inconsistent, this is a sign that you are not genuine in that particular aspect. Therefore, become a consistent giver instead of one who gives on occasions.
In his last words to the church Prophet reignited the giving spirit by leaving all believers with an assignment for this Christmas, “The Holy Spirit is trying to reshape you for next year. Your assignment from here is to go and give. Look for the people who do not know you, give to them and celebrate a unique Christmas – become an Angel of Hope and Light. Surely Jesus will reward you.”
THE GRACE OF GOD IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU!
