Pelonomi started her Junior school on a very high note; she would unremittingly get grade A’s and her character was on check. With this, a sense of pride was born in her “I am smart and my agility has brought me this far, what then is the use of putting any more effort,” she thought. The young lady immediately resolved to adopting bad habits; noise making, bickering, dating and paying minimal attention to her studies. She continued on this note throughout her junior school and as a result, from a first class student she took a dramatic nose dive, going straight to grade C’s; which led to accumulating points as low as 37.
Her worried parents, tried advising her concerning the path she had chosen but the more they spoke the worse she would get. Pelonomi did not want to listen to anyone, she had become so pompous that she felt that she could do whatever she wanted and it was either ‘her way’ or ‘no way.’ By the grace of God, Pelonomi was introduced to PPS initiative in the year 2016, when she was doing her final year of Junior school. “If you wish to excel academically, divert your attention from where it has always been; dating, social media, movies and worldly music to your academics” said Prophet Cedric during one of the PPS meetings. This message hit the core of Pelonomi’s heart, leading her to decide that it was time for her to stop all her bad habits. She immediately let go of all bad friends, stopped dating and focused more on her studies. Even though she faced a lot of criticism after this change she kept on believing that an instruction given in righteousness will never fail.
When the time came for Pelonomi to sit for her Junior Certificate Examination, she ministered the Living Water, believing God to remind her of what she had read. Indeed her faith was not disappointed, when the results were released, she had emerged victorious; from an overall grade C of 37 points, she managed to scoop grade B of 51 points, with a notable improvement in Moral Education and Mathematics; she had scored grade C’s on both but has now scored grade A’s. The jubilant Pelonomi advised fellow students to work hard and heed to the teachings of Prophet Cedric because obedience is a sure way to blessings.
