For Lesedi Silver, coming to the church was just one of the habits that she had become accustomed to but was never really serious about it. Even when the PPs initiative was introduced she had no interest in it at all, believing that she could do just anything if she puts her mind to it. Bad friends, dating and unnecessary bicker were what she had become, suffocating whatever chance she had to excel academically. This led to a dismal fail in the end; a grade C for Junior Certificate Examinations, consisting mainly of C’s, D’s and even E’s. While others were testifying, Lesedi had nothing to write home about!
The failure streak continued unremittingly even when she got to senior school, she would score as low as E’s and F’s, not only that; the young lady also dropped from a pure science class to a double science class. With these grades it became apparent that she could not do it on her own, she was in dire need for divine intervention. Completely disheartened and phased by her predicament, she finally decided to give God His rightful place in her life; first priority. When she got to form 5, she did not think twice, she ceased the opportunity presented before her and joined PPS and devoted her life to God. At this, she was separated from her past failure.
The messages given by the Prophet during PPS meetings became her driving force. “The man of God said that whatever we do is a seed which we are bound to reap from tomorrow, these words inspired me to sow a seed of hard work today so as to reap a brighter future,” she added. Lesedi did her best; studied hard, dedicated all her time to her academics, believing that God would meet her halfway and indeed trusting in Him proved to be the best decision she has ever made. Finally, she can also talk about God’s goodness in her life as she has managed to scoop a remarkable 42 points, consisting of two A’s, that which she had termed a far-fetched dream has become possible through Christ.
