I want to ask you a question which has everything to do with your life – WHY ARE YOU WORRIED?Are you worried because of the report from your doctor, there is no food at home or you do not have money? Ponder over this question, “Why am I worried?”
The reason why I am asking is because as a Christian it is not necessary for you to be worried because your faith in God substitutes worry and anxiety in your heart. If you truly possess the necessary and genuine faith in God then you do not have to worry!
The scripture says, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. [Matthew 6:25- 34]
“Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothes?” This is a question you ought to think about in order to eliminate the doubt, worry and anxiety which has been troubling your heart. If God has given you life, which is the greatest gift, how then can He fail to give you the less important things that you need such as clothes, food, job, business and good health? That is why the scripture in Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all- how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things? This should erase the doubt in your heart and give you the certainty that indeed God has the ability to give you all that you are looking for. What then are you looking for? It is unnecessary for you to worry because being worried is not a solution but rather, a problem.
Therefore, instead of being worried, let us do what it takes to bring solution – believe and trust in the promises of the Almighty in the name of Jesus.
