From the very beginning Tlotlo Podisi had been an average student; she would get B’s and did nothing to improve her grades. With time things got worse as she developed bad character and started moving around with friends who added no value to her academics and as such made no time for her books. As a result, the highest grade she would get was 40 points, with no A’s but copious B’s and C’s. Having been acquainted to such poor academic performance she never expected change in her academic state. Little did she know that PPS would be her hike to academic excellence.
In 2016 she was introduced to PPS and was greatly inspired by the message ‘Divert your attention from where it has always been to your academics.’ After receiving this message, everything about her was redefined; Tlotlo divorced her bad habits and began to exert her genuine willingness; she would remain behind after school to read and during the wee hours of the morning she would be awake scribbling notes and reading; something that she could not do before.
Upon writing her examination, she exercised faith as she ministered the Living Water and even carried the Living Sticker with her into the exam room. ‘Even before I could go to school, I would pray with my parents and ask God for the very best,’ she said. Even though she was expectant of a miracle, she did not anticipate a high achievement. She had been a renowned 40 point student who could not go beyond B’s and C pluses. When the IGCSE results were released she had amazed herself and her parents; she had gotten a whopping 48 points with 6A’s and 3B’s, with an improvement in various subject such as Chemistry, Economics, English and French. Moreover she has made it into the Top 60 achievers in Maru-A-Pula Secondary School. This had never happened in the history of her educational journey.
“We were never expectant that she would do this well. Even though we encouraged her to study hard, we were never expectant of such a high performance given her past performances but we thank God for such a total turnaround”- said Tlotlo’s parents who accompanied her when sharing her testimony.
